Stockholm, Sweden - (Sept. 30, 2020) – Sunway Communication, through its subsidiary in Sweden, has joined the Germany based association for 3-D MID technologies, Research Association for Mechatronic Integrated Devices e. V., also known as 3-D MID e.V. Members of the association include companies throughout the entire 3-D MID ecosystem, such as equipment suppliers, raw material suppliers, component suppliers, product companies and research organizations. 3-D MID technologies, including the most well-known Laser Direct Structuring (LDS), enable the creation of low cost, high precision conductive circuits on 3-dimensional plastic structures. The technology is today established across multiple industries, such as automotive, industrial, medical communication infrastructure and consumer electronics. Within those applications, products such as sensors, antennas, payment devices, lighting and LED carriers and many more, have relied on the merits of 3-D MID for around 20 years now. 

“The teams in Sunway Communication were among the pioneers in 3-D MID process development since the technology became prevalent about two decades ago”, said Robert Berg, Vice President Europe. Currently, Sunway offers support to companies worldwide through its customer support offices in Europe, the US and throughout Asia. “Being one of the largest suppliers of 3-D MID based products worldwide means we have developed several different processes catering to specific customer requirements. Those requirements often relate to, among other things, material properties, RF/electrical properties, product size, design flexibility, and overall cost.”

In order to continually support the research and technology development, and to further the deployment of the technologies to an ever increasing amount of applications, Sunway now joins the association 3-D MID e.V. The association fosters the furthering of the technology by bringing the ecosystem together. “We are happy to welcome Sunway Communication as a valued member and upcoming presenter at our international Congress MID 2021 on 9-10 Feb. 2021 in Amberg, Germany”, said Philipp Br?uer, Managing Director of the research association.
